Chinese Taipei National Football Team
The Chinese Taipei national football team () represents Taiwan (The Republic of China) in international football and is controlled by the Chinese Taipei Football Association. Despite never qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, Chinese Taipei, then known as Republic of China, reached the semi-finals of the 1960 and 1968 AFC Asian Cups, finishing third in the former. The side also won gold at the 1954 and 1958 Asian Games, although the players in the team originated from British Hong Kong. Chen Po-liang (; born 11 August 1988) is a Taiwanese people, Taiwanese professional Association football, footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Qingdao West Coast F.C., Qingdao West Coast. Nieh Pin-chieh
Nieh Pin-chieh (; born June 12, 1988) is a Taiwanese swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She represented the Chinese Taipei national team in two editions of the Olympic Games (2004 and 2008), competing in a sprint freestyle double. Nieh made her own swimming history, as a 16-year-old teen, at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she competed in the women's 50 m freestyle. Swimming in heat five, she posted a lifetime best of 27.09 seconds to pick up a fourth spot, but trailed behind Puerto Rico's Vanessa García by more than a second.
