1987 Miami Dolphins Season
The 1987 Miami Dolphins season was the team's 22nd as a member of the National Football League (NFL). The Dolphins improved upon their previous season's output of 8–8, losing one fewer game. Despite the improvement the team failed to reach the playoffs. This was also the first season the Dolphins played their home games at Joe Robbie Stadium. Their first game at Joe Robbie Stadium involved replacement players, as 25,867 fans saw the Dolphins defeat the Kansas City Chiefs. The American Football Conference – Eastern Division or AFC East is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). David Shula
David Donald Shula (born May 28, 1959) is an American football coach and former player. He is the wide receivers coach at Dartmouth College. Shula served as the head coach for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL) from 1992 to 1996, compiling a record of 19–52. He is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Don Shula and brother of fellow football coach Mike Shula. Kyle Erickson Mackey (born March 2, 1962) is an American football coach and former quarterback who played for the New York Jets, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. Dee Elbert Mackey (October 16, 1934February 26, 2001) was an American football tight end who played professionally for six seasons in the National Football League and the American Football League. Chuck Studley
Charles B. Studley (born January 17, 1929) is a former American football coach. He served as head coach at University of Cincinnati from 1961 to 1966 and interim head coach of the Houston Oilers in 1983. Studley finished with a 2–8 record in his only job as an NFL head coach. Prior to joining the Oilers as a defensive coordinator in 1983, Studley served as defensive coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers.
