The 1987 Korean Professional Football League was the fifth season of the K League. Before the start of this season, the Korean Professional Football Committee was separated from the Korea Football Association. A total of 5 professional teams participated in the league. Hanil Bank withdrew the league from this season. It began on 28 March and ended on 8 November 1987. It was operated with the home and away system for the first time. Lee Heung-sil
Lee Heung-sil (; born 10 July 1961) is a former South Korean footballer. He was a participant in the 1990 FIFA World Cup. Club career Lee was one of the greatest K League midfielders early in the history of K League. He received various seasonal awards by being named the Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, top assist provider, and five-time Best XI winner, while spending his entire professional career in POSCO Atoms. He is also the first-ever player to have 30 goals and 30 assists in the K League. He helped POSCO Atoms win three K League titles. Style of play Nicknamed the "Little Tank" in South Korea, Lee was noted for his powerful dribbles and creative passes, although he had some weaknesses such as lack of defensive ability and height. Park No-bong (; born June 19, 1961, in South Korea) is a South Korean former footballer who played as a defender. He started his professional career at Daewoo Royals in 1985. Park Hang-seo (; born 1 October 1957) is a South Korean Association football, football manager and former player. He was most recently the manager of the Vietnam national football team, and is considered one of the most successful managers in Vietnamese football history.
