Television In Estonia
Television in Estonia was introduced in 1955, following the Soviet government's decision to establish a television station in 1953. The National television channel Eesti Televisioon (ETV) has maintained an archive since 1955 in which broadcasts of unique aspects of Estonian culture are held. Northern Estonia receives television signals from Finland. During the 1970s and 1980s, Finnish broadcasts were more popular than Soviet-Estonian offerings until the Singing Revolution, with many Estonians enjoying ''Dallas'' and other programs portraying non-Communist lifestyles. Digital television was officially launched on December 15, 2006 when the operator Eesti Digitaaltelevisiooni AS launched its pay service Zuum TV, operated by Starman, on two multiplexes. Mikk Jürjens
Mikk Jürjens (born 27 January 1987) is an Estonian stage, television, film, and voice actor, singer, and television presenter whose career began in the mid-2000s. Early life and education Mikk Jürjens was born and raised in the town of Rapla in Rapla County. In 2006, he enrolled in the performing arts department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn to study acting under course supervisor Hendrik Toompere Jr., graduating in 2010. Among his graduating classmates were: Marta Laan, Liis Haab, Lauri Kaldoja, Liisa Pulk, Roland Laos, Hendrik Toompere Jr. Jr., Sandra Uusberg-Üksküla, and Kristjan Üksküla. Career Stage Following his graduation from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2010, he joined the Tallinn City Theatre the same year, where he is currently still engaged. Lauri Pedaja (born 4 April 1987 in Rakvere) is an Estonian actor and hairdresser. He debuted as an actor in 2007 film '' The Class'' directed by Ilmar Raag, where he had one of the lead roles. In 2008, Pedaja participated as a celebrity contestant on the third season of '' Tantsud tähtedega'', an Estonian version of ''Dancing with the Stars ''Strictly Come Dancing (widely known as Dancing with the Stars)'' is an international television franchise based on the format of the British TV series '' Strictly Come Dancing,'' itself a successor to the show ''Come Dancing'' (1950–1998) ...''. Vallo Kirs
Vallo Kirs (born 23 November 1987) is an Estonian stage, film, and television actor and stage director whose career began as a teenager in 2004. Kirs is possibly best recalled internationally for his role as Kaspar in the 2007 Ilmar Raag-directed feature film drama '' Klass''. Early life and education Vallo Kirs was born in 1987 in the town of Rakvere in Lääne-Viru County, where he attended primary and secondary school at the Rakvere Gymnasium. After graduation, he studied history at the University of Tartu's Faculty of Philosophy. In 2009, Kirs left his studies at the University of Tartu to study acting and directing at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy, graduating in 2013.
