	CECAFA The Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (, , , ; officially abbreviated as CECAFA) is an association of the football playing nations in mostly East Africa and parts of Central Africa. An affiliate of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), CECAFA is the oldest sub-regional football organisation on the continent. History CECAFA was founded unofficially in 1927. The competition was sponsored by the major Nairobi-based soap-manufacturing firm Gossage, owned by the British Lever Brothers. Its formation is often misattributed to William Gossage, founder of the Gossage company. However, he died 50 years before the CECAFA was established. 	CECAFA Cup The CECAFA Cup, formerly the Gossage Cup (1926–1966) and the East and Central African Senior Challenge Cup (1967–1971), is the oldest football tournament in Africa. 	Henry Motego Henry Motego (born 21 May 1964) is a former Kenya international football forward who played for clubs in Kenya and Oman. Club career Born in Gucha District, Motego began playing football in the local league for Shabana Kisii. He helped the club gain promotion to the Kenyan Premier League in 1988. After performing well with Shabana, he was noticed by Kenya Breweries F.C. and signed for the club in 1989. In 1991, Motego signed for Omani league side Al-Oruba SC for two seasons. 	Lawrence Waya Lawrence Waya (born 25 May 1963) is a Malawian former football player and manager. A forward, he represented the Malawi national team at international level. Club career Born in the village of Mphonde in Phalombe District, Nyasaland, Waya joined local club Bata Bullets in 1980. He spent most of his career with Bullets, but had a brief spell in the United Arab Emirates with Al Jazira Club, and finished his career with Silver Strikers. International career Waya made over 100 appearances for the Malawi national team, including seven FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. He won a bronze medal with Malawi at the 1987 All-Africa Games in Nairobi.
