1986 Asian Club Championship
The 1986 Asian Club Championship was the 6th edition of the annual Asian club football competition hosted by Asian Football Confederation. Several Asian clubs started the qualifying round in Fall of 1986. The final round was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in December 1986. Furukawa Electric defeated Al Hilal in the final to become the first Japanese club to win the Asian Club Championship. Defending champions Daewoo Royals were unable to defend their title as they finished third in the 1985 K League. Qualifying Stage Group 1 Al-Shorta Aden qualified to the second round by default, as they were the only team in Group 1. Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian or KTB Palembang was an Indonesian semi-professional association football club from Palembang, South Sumatra. The club was owned by the Palembang branch of Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors, the local distributor of Mitsubishi Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso vehicles. Habib Bank Limited Football Club, abbreviated as HBL F.C., served as the football section of Habib Bank Limited.
