1982–83 Cypriot Third Division
The 1982–83 Cypriot Third Division was the 12th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. ENTHOI Lakatamia FC won their 1st title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1982–83 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1983–84 Cypriot Second Division. The last two teams were relegated to regional leagues. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek language, Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier Association football, football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. Neos Aionas Trikomou
Neos Aionas Trikomou (, "New Century Trikomou") was a Cypriot football club based in Trikomo. Founded in 1900, it was played sometimes in Second and sometimes in the Third and Fourth Divisions. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus and occupation of the city of Trikomo in 1974, the team was displaced to the southern part of the island, in Limassol. 1982–83 Cypriot Cup
The 1982–83 Cypriot Cup was the 41st edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 42 clubs entered the competition. It began on 14 November 1982 with the preliminary round and concluded on 28 May 1983 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium. Omonia won their 7th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Enosis Neon Paralimni 2–1 in the final. Format In the 1982–83 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division and the Cypriot Third Division. The competition consisted of six knock-out rounds. In all rounds each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of one of the two teams, according to the draw results. ''I Simerini'' ( English: The Daily) is a centre-right Greek language independently owned newspaper published in Cyprus since 1976. It is one of the largest newspapers on the island with a daily circulation of around 9,000 copies. ASIL Lysi () is a Cypriot football club which was established in the town of Lysi, Famagusta. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, ASIL became a refugee team and is temporarily based in Larnaca. The club plays in the . History The club was founded in Lysi, Famagusta on June 26, 1932. Club founders were Ch. Fokaides, Ch. Panayides, K. Rousi and N. Petrou. The choice for the club's name is attributed to Demetris Lambrou. The club had its own stadium in Lysi. The stadium was called «Grigoris Afxentiou Stadium» as a memory of EOKA hero Grigoris Afxentiou who was born in Lysi and he was a player of ASIL.
