1980 Veszprém Attack
On 11 September 1980, a gunman opened fire at multiple locations in Veszprém, Hungary. A 23-year-old soldier, armed with a rifle and several grenades, attacked random people. Two people and the perpetrator were killed, and ten others were wounded. ''Blikk'' called the attack "one of the most brutal crimes under the János Kádár, Kádár government". Attack On 10 September 1980, the shooter, aged 23, deserted from his barracks, armed with an assault rifle, 270 rounds of ammunition, and 10 hand grenades. The following day, he opened fire near the Bishop's Palace, shooting and throwing hand grenades at workers renovating the building. Veszprém Stabbing
In the Veszprém stabbing of 8 February 2009, a group of Romani people, Romani people stabbed three members of the MKB Veszprém handball team in a bar in Veszprém, Hungary. One of them, Marian Cozma, was killed. Circumstances Siófok was a favorite place of the clan and frequently caused problem for the owners since they often made quarrels and did not pay their bills. Veszprém
Veszprém (; , , , ) is one of the oldest urban areas in Hungary, and a city with county rights. It lies approximately north of the Lake Balaton. János Kádár
János József Kádár (; ; né Czermanik; 26 May 1912 – 6 July 1989) was a Hungarian Communist leader and the General Secretary of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party, a position he held for 32 years. Declining health led to his retirement in 1988, and he died in 1989 after being hospitalized for pneumonia. Kádár was born in Corpus separatum (Fiume), Fiume in poverty to a single mother. After living in the countryside for some years, Kádár and his mother moved to Budapest. He joined the Party of Communists in Hungary's youth organization, KIMSZ, and went on to become a prominent figure in the pre-1939 Communist party, eventually becoming First Secretary. As a leader, he would dissolve the party and reorganize it as the Peace Party, but the new party failed to win much popular support. RTL (formerly: RTL Klub and abbreviated as RTL HU) is a Hungarian free-to-air television channel owned by RTL Group.
