Michael Kwan
Michael Kwan Ching-kit is a Hong Kong Cantopop singer previously with the Philips label (the brand Polygram was not adopted until later in Hong Kong), and later with EMI. His back catalogue (1986–1988) continues to be published by Universal Music Group. He retired his music career in 1988 and now works as an architect in Seattle, United States, with his wife and son. Biography Kwan was born in 1949 in British Hong Kong. He attended St. Paul's Co-educational College and graduated in 1969. He was admitted in the University of Hong Kong in the same year and later graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Architecture. Kwan practiced architecture full-time after graduation and founded his practice in 1983. His wife is also an architect. Teresa Cheung Tak-lan is a Hong Kong singer. RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards
Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards () is one of the main C-pop music award in Hong Kong. The award is sponsored by RTHK. Beginning in 1978, it is the oldest major award in Hong Kong, even earlier than the Jade Solid Gold Awards. The ceremony is usually held in January following the end of the previous music season. It usually takes place at the Hong Kong Coliseum, sometimes at the Sha Tin Racecourse. Award format The standard format is that the top 10 songs of each year are presented. Chyi Yu or Qi Yu (; born 17 October 1957) is a Taiwanese singer best known for her 1979 hit "The Olive Tree" (). She won the 9th Golden Melody Award for Best Female Vocalist Mandarin. She is the elder sister of singer-songwriter Chyi Chin. She is a religious Buddhist and a vegetarian. Chyi Yu is a protege of the late Taiwanese composer and songwriter Li Tai-hsiang. Wong Jim
James Wong Jim (; 18 March 1941 – 24 November 2004, also known as "霑叔" or "Uncle Jim") was a Cantopop lyricist and songwriter based primarily in Hong Kong. Beginning from the 1960s, he was the lyricist for over 2,000 songs, collaborating with songwriter Joseph Koo ( Koo Kar-Fai) on many popular television theme songs, many of which have become classics of the genre.
