picture info	1979 Girabola 1979 Girabola was the annual national Angola football (soccer) tournament, Girabola, held in 1979. It was the first national championship organized after Angola achieved independence in 1975. Due to the Angolan Civil War this was the first (and only) tournament that included teams from all Angolan provinces. By then, there were only sixteen provinces. Later on, the province of Lunda was split in two: Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul and Bengo was also created. On the course of the championship, Sporting Clube de Luanda was renamed as Diabos Verdes. Twenty-for teams were divided into four groups of six teams each with the top team advancing to the semi-finals. João Machado of Diabos Verdes finished as the top scorer with 18 goals. 	Girabola Girabola, or ''Campeonato Nacional de Futebol em Séniores Masculinos'', is the top division of Angolan football. It is organized by the Angolan Football Federation. The league winner and runner-up qualify for the CAF Champions League. Girabola ZAP In January 2016, Angolan subscription TV satellite and cable provider ZAP, the Angolan Football Federation and the Girabola clubs, signed a three-year deal in which ZAP will have broadcast rights over all Girabola matches. As part of the deal, the Angolan state-owned TV station TPA will be allowed to broadcast one game per week on its free-view platform. Also as part of the deal, the Girabola changes its denomination to Girabola ZAP. 	Ndunguidi Daniel Ndunguidi Gonçalves, better known as Daniel Ndunguidi or simply Ndunguidi, (born 1956) is a former Angolan football player. Ndunguidi, whose career peaked in the 1980s while playing for Primeiro de Agosto as a forward, is widely considered Angola's most prominent football player, following independence. His fame and talent is only matched by that of Petro Atlético's José Saturnino de Oliveira aka "Jesus". In 1979, an attempt by Sporting Clube de Portugal to sign him was barred for political reasons as was another attempt by Benfica de Portugal in 1990. On November 30th 1991, a farewell match was played between Primeiro de Agosto and Petro de Luanda, in honour of Ndunguidi and ''Jesus" Saturnino.
