Indy Lights
Indy NXT, previously Indy Lights, is an American developmental automobile racing series sanctioned by IndyCar, currently known as Firestone Indy NXT Series for sponsorship reasons. Indy Lights is the highest step on the Road to Indy, a program of racing series leading up to the IndyCar Series. The Indy Lights series has been promoted by Anderson Promotions since 2014, which also manages the Road to Indy program. A similar series named Indy Lights filled the developmental role for the CART series, and ran from 1986 to 1993 as the American Racing Series and Dayton Indy Lights from 1991 to 2001. Thomas Vincent Thompson (January 16, 1943September 28, 1978) was an American racing driver of Afro-American descent. Thompson competed in various racing series most notably in the SCCA Formula Super Vee and USAC Mini-Indy series. Racing career Thompson first appeared in Formula Super Vee in 1976. The New Yorker competed in the SCCA US Formula Super Vee. Thompson was an engineer and driver for the Black American Racers Association. Thompson ended 25th in the championship scoring three points. In 1976 Thompson participated in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs in the Formula Super Vee class. At Road Atlanta he failed to finish in his Lola T324. Ontario Motor Speedway was a motorsport venue located in Ontario, California. Harry MacDonald (racing Driver)
Harry MacDonald (born September 27, 1940) is a retired Canadian racing driver. He raced in the UK Formula Super Vee series from 1977 to 1979 and in 1978 won a race at Texas World Speedway and finished third in the championship. In 1981 he attempted to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 but failed to do so, then competed in the USAC "Gold Crown" Championship Car race at Pocono Raceway where he finished 5th in a field of very few top drivers, then competed in the CART race at Michigan International Speedway and finished 21st after an engine failure. He resurfaced in 1983 to attempt to qualify for the Indy 500 but again failed to do so. MacDonald was born in Windsor, Ontario. He was a lawyer by trade and ran a law firm in his hometown of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
