Dublin
Dublin (; , or ) is the capital and largest city of Ireland. Derek Talbot
Derek Talbot (born 23 March 1947) is a former English badminton player. One of Britain's most successful "all-rounders," he won eleven English National Championships four singles, three doubles, and four mixed doubles. He also won four Commonwealth Games gold medals and in partnership with the formidable Gillian Gilks he won three mixed doubles crowns at the prestigious All-England Open (1973, 1976, and 1977). Marjan Luesken
Marjan Ridder (born Marjan Luesken 3 May 1953, in Haarlem) is a retired badminton player of the Netherlands. Career Ridder won 17 Dutch titles. Internationally she was most successful in women's doubles, usually partnered with Joke van Beusekom, winning at the (first) European Youth Championships in 1969, the Denmark Open in 1972 and 1975, the Irish International in 1975, and the Dutch Open in 1977. She and Van Beusekom further earned bronze at the 1974, and 1978 European Championships, and silver at the (first) World Championships in 1977 in Malmö. Steen Skovgaard
Steen Skovgaard is a retired male badminton player from Denmark who specialized in the doubles events and won national and international titles in both men's doubles and mixed doubles from the mid-1970s through the early 1980s. He played for the Gentofte BK. Career The tall, hard-hitting Skovgaard won the gold medal at the 1977 IBF World Championships in mixed doubles with Lene Køppen, defeating Derek Talbot and Gillian Gilks by 15-12, 18-17 in the final. They also won the bronze medal at the 1980 IBF World Championships. At the European Badminton Championships they won two silver medals, in 1976 and 1978. In 1980 Skovgaard won a bronze medal in men's doubles with Flemming Delfs, and in 1982 another bronze medal in mixed doubles with his wife, Anne Skovgaard. Christine Stewart (badminton)
Christine Susan Stewart, (January 3, 1941 – April 25, 2015) was a Canadian politician. She served three terms as a Liberal Party Member of Parliament for the riding of Northumberland in Ontario. During her career she held the cabinet positions of Secretary of State for Latin America and Africa, and Minister of the Environment. Early life and education Stewart earned a degree in nursing (BScN) from the University of Toronto. Nora Perry MBE ( Gardner, born 1954) is an English former badminton player noted for her anticipation, racket control, and tactical astuteness. A doubles specialist, Perry won numerous major titles, with a variety of partners, from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. These included six All-England mixed doubles and two All-England women's doubles championships. She won both the 1980 IBF World Championships and the 1980 European Championships in women's doubles with Jane Webster. Thomas Kihlström (born 11 December 1948) is a former badminton player from Sweden known for his agility, tactical astuteness, and coolness under pressure. Though an impressive singles player early in his career, his greatest successes came in doubles. Career Kihlström won the 1983 IBF World Championships in mixed doubles with Nora Perry.
