1976 Cork Senior Football Championship
The 1976 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 88th staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 24 January 1976. Nemo Rangers entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by St. Finbarr's in the semi-finals. The final was played on 14 November 1976 at the newly-opened Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork, between St. Finbarr's and St. Michael's, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. St. Finbarr's won the match by 1-10 tp 1-07 to claim their fourth championship title overall and a first title in 17 years. Billy Field was the championship's top scorer with 1-30. Carbery GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling division in the south-west area of County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Na Piarsaigh Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Fair Hill, Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated to the Seandún Board and fields teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. History Located in the Fair Hill area on the northside of Cork, Na Piarsaigh Hurling and Football Club was founded by a group of North Monastery students in 1943. The club is named in honour of Pádraig Pearse, to reflect the nationalist ideals of the club and its members. Early training sessions took place at Collins Barracks, prior to the club acquiring their own playing field in 1951. Muskerry GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division located in the middle region of County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork GAA County Board. The division includes clubs from areas to the west of Cork city stretching to the county bounds with Kerry.
