The 22nd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held in 1975. This ceremony gave recognition to the movies that was made for the year 1974. The year 1974, was a banner year for the Philippine movie industry, producing quality movies like ''Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang'', ''Tatlo, Dalawa, Isa''; '' Ang Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa'', ''Alala Mo, Daigdig''; ''Fe, Esperanza, Caridad'', ''John en Marsha''; and '' Patayin Mo Sa Sindak Si Barbara''. During the awarding ceremony of FAMAS 1975, ''Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang'' became the second Filipino movie to win 4 major awards including the most coveted FAMAS Award for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress but it failed win the best screenplay. Filipino Academy Of Movie Arts And Sciences Award
The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards, or simply the FAMAS Awards, are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of writers and movie columnists, for achievements in Philippine cinema for a calendar year. Members of the academy including avid movie viewers, fans or enthusiasts cast their votes on who should win the statuettes in the different categories they were nominated. Established in 1952, it is the oldest existing film industry award-giving body in the Philippines and one of the oldest in Asia. The FAMAS Award, from 1952 to 1982, was the highest Filipino film award a filmmaker or artisan could receive in the local movie industry. Joey Gosiengfiao (March 15, 1941 – March 16, 2007) was a Filipino movie director, well known for the campy box-office hits he directed. Early life He was born Jose Gosiengfiao on March 15, 1941, in Manila. He finished his studies at University of the East and also joined its UE Dramatic Guild. Jorgé Jesús Marcelo Ejército (; July 10, 1939 – August 8, 1988), better known as George Estregan or George Estregan Sr., was a Filipino ''mestizo'' film actor.
