A wild card (also wildcard or wild-card and also known as an at-large berth or at-large bid) is an invitation to a tournament or a playoff berth awarded to a team or individual that does not qualify via an automatic bid. In some events, wildcards are chosen freely by the organizers. Other events have fixed rules. Some North American professional sports leagues compare the records of teams which did not qualify directly by winning a division or conference. Anne-Mette Sørensen (born 7 July 1947) is a Danish former professional tennis player. Sørensen, who comes from the island of Funen, won three outdoor and five indoor Danish national singles championships during her career. She was named Funen's sportsperson of the year in 1975. Lita Liem Sugiarto
Lita Liem Sugiarto (born 27 February 1946), sometimes known by her maiden name Lita Liem, a former Indonesian professional tennis player. She played at Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam events between 1968 and 1975, in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. In women's doubles, she and partner Lany Kaligis reached two Grand Slam quarterfinals: the Australian Open in 1970 and The Championships, Wimbledon, Wimbledon in 1971. As such, she and Kaligis were among the first Indonesians to reach the later rounds of a Grand Slam competition. Kaligis was the only partner that Sugiarto ever played with in Grand Slam doubles competition. Carmen Perea Alcalá (born 3 May 1952) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. Biography Perea was born in Melilla, an autonomous Spanish city on the African continent. She later moved to Málaga, and at tage 18, settled in Barcelona. From 1973 to 1983, she appeared in 29 Federation Cup ties for Spain, winning 19 matches overall. One of her singles wins over was West German Sylvia Hanika in 1980. Nora Blom (born 22 February 1951) is a Dutch former professional tennis player. While touring in the 1970s she was known by her married name Nora Lauteslager. Blom is a descendant of tennis players Otto Blom and Arthur Diemer Kool. A left-handed player, Blom was youth champion of the Netherlands in 1967 for the 17s and youth champion for the 20s in 1970. She made her only grand slam singles main draw appearance at the 1974 Australian Open and was beaten in the first round by seventh-seed Pam Teeguarden.
