The 1974 Copa Fraternidad was the fourth Central American club championship played between 6 clubs. C.S.D. Municipal won the tournament. Teams 1 Juventud Olímpica were the 1973 Primera División champion and were originally slated to compete however due to financial issue. The club declined the option to participate. FAS and Alianza played a game to determine the winner, Alianza prevailed winning 2-1. Deportivo Saprissa
Deportivo Saprissa is a Costa Rican sports club, mostly known for its Association football, football team. The club is based in San Juan de Tibás, San José, Costa Rica, San José, and play their home games at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá. Their colours are burgundy and white. It is the main team representing the capital, but with the distinction of being massively followed throughout the whole country and overseas. The club was founded in 1935 and has competed in the Costa Rican first division since 1949. The name of the team comes from one of the club's main founders, Ricardo Saprissa Aymá. Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores
The Estadio Nacional Doroteo Guamuch Flores is a multi-use national stadium in Guatemala City, the largest venue in Guatemala. It was built in 1948, to host the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1950, and was renamed after long-distance runner Doroteo Guamuch Flores, winner of the 1952 Boston Marathon. It has a capacity of 26,000 seats. Used mostly for football (soccer) matches, the stadium has hosted the majority of the home matches of the Guatemala national football team throughout its history, and is the home of local football club Comunicaciones. The venue is operated by the '' Confederación Deportiva Autónoma de Guatemala'' (CDAG). One of the worst disasters ever to occur in a sports venue took place at the stadium in 1996, when 83 people were killed because of a human avalanche on the stands. Juan Ramón Martínez (footballer)
Juan Ramón "Mon" Martínez (20 April 1948 – 4 August 2024) was a Salvadoran association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Martínez played in Guatemala, where he won a title with C.S.D. Municipal, Municipal in 1965–66. International career Martínez represented his country at the 1968 Summer Olympics, Salvador’s only participation to the Football at the Summer Olympics, Olympic Football Tournament, playing three games and scoring Salvador’s first ever goal (out of 2) in the Olympics and the 1970 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. He scored 14 goals for the El Salvador national football team, El Salvador national team from 1967 to 1976, 7 of those in World Cup qualification. Luis Baltazar Ramírez Zapata (born 6 January 1954) is a retired Salvadoran football forward, who played for the El Salvador national team for nearly two decades. Club career Nicknamed ''El Pelé'', he spent nearly 20 years playing for Salvadoran club Águila. Luis Gerardo Solano Chavarría (24 december 1953, in San José – 12 January 2000) was a Costa Rican professional footballer who played most of his career for Deportivo Saprissa and Herediano in the 1970s. Club career Solano was a member of the Saprissa squad that won six consecutive championships from 1972 to 1977, a record both in Costa Rica as well as in the Americas.
