Dell Comics was the comic book publishing arm of Dell Publishing, which got its start in pulp magazines. It published comics from 1929 to 1973. F'Murr
Richard Peyzaret (March 31, 1946 – April 10, 2018), better known by his pen name F'Murrr or F'Murr, was a French cartoonist and comic book writer. He was most famous for the long-running series '' Le Génie des alpages'' (''The Genius of the Mountain Pastures''). Biography Peyzaret grew up as an admirer of Hergé and André Franquin, but studied Applied Arts for six years in Paris before meeting the BD industry, by arriving at the workshop of Raymond Poïvet. This led to an introduction to René Goscinny and starting work for ''Pilote'' magazine in 1971, making his debut with the gags series ''Contes à Rebours''. The unused boards of this strip later formed the basis of his first album, ''Au loup!''. While at ''Pilote'', he began his most famous work, ''Le Génie des alpages'' in 1973. ''Amazing Adventures'' is the name of several anthology comic book series, all but one published by Marvel Comics. The earliest Marvel series of that name introduced the company's first superhero of the late-1950s to early-1960s period fans and historians call the Silver Age of Comic Books. That same series also included the first comic book to be labeled "Marvel Comics". Maurice De Bevere (; ; 1 December 1923 – 16 July 2001), better known as Morris, was a Belgian comics artist, illustrator and the creator of ''Lucky Luke,'' a bestselling comic series about a gunslinger in the American Wild West. He was inspired by the adventures of the historic Dalton Gang and other outlaws. It was a bestselling series for more than 50 years that was translated into 23 languages and published internationally. He collaborated for two decades with French writer René Goscinny on the series. ''Lucky Luke'' is a Western (genre), Western bande dessinée, comic album series created by Belgian cartoonist Morris (cartoonist), Morris in 1946. Morris wrote and drew the series single-handedly until 1955, after which he started collaborating with French writer René Goscinny. Their partnership lasted until Goscinny's death in 1977. Alberto Aleandro Uderzo (; 25 April 1927 – 24 March 2020), better known as Albert Uderzo (), was a French comic book artist and scriptwriter. He is best known as the co-creator and illustrator of the '' Astérix'' series in collaboration with René Goscinny. He also drew other comics such as '' Oumpah-pah'', again with Goscinny. Uderzo retired in September 2011. Early life Uderzo was born in Fismes in the Marne department of France on 25 April 1927 as the fourth child of Italian immigrants Silvio Uderzo (1888–1985), a carpenter, and his wife Iria Uderzo (, 1897–1997). René Goscinny (; ; 14 August 1926 – 5 November 1977) was a French comic editor and writer, who created the ''Asterix, Astérix'' comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris (cartoonist), Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series ''Lucky Luke'' (in what was considered the series' golden age). He wrote ''Iznogoud'' with Jean Tabary. ''Asterix in Corsica'' () is the twentieth volume of the Asterix comic book series, by René Goscinny (stories) and Albert Uderzo (artwork). It was originally serialized in Pilote issues 687–708 in 1973. It is the best-selling title in the history of the series, owing to its sales in the French market, but is one of the least-selling titles in the English language.
