1969 Soviet Class A Second Group
The 1969 Soviet Football Championship of the Class A Second Group (russian: Чемпионат СССР 1969 года во второй группе класса «А») was the seventh season of the Class A Second Group that was established in 1963. It was also the 29th season of the Soviet second tier league competition. The season started on April 1, 1969, with the Round 1 games in Group 4. The season ended with the last round of the Final stage played on November 6, 1969. In August of 1969, Karpaty Lvov won the Football Cup of the Soviet Union (a parallel elimination tournament), thus qualifying for the 1970–71 European Cup Winners' Cup. Karpaty became the only Soviet team of masters that qualified for the continental competition while playing in the second tier of the Soviet football league pyramid. The Soviet First League in football (russian: Первая лига СССР по футболу) was the second highest division of Soviet football,Evgeni Kazakov. FC Krylia Sovetov Kuibyshev
PFC Krylia Sovetov Samara (russian: Профессиональный футбольный клуб «Крылья Советов» Самара) is a football club from Russia based in Samara. It returned to the Russian Premier League for the 2021–22 season. In 2004, they finished third in the Russian Premier League. History Krylia Sovetov was founded in Kuybyshev (now Samara) in 1942. On 21 April 1946 the team played its first match in the highest division in the USSR in Alma-Ata, in which they lost 1–2 to Zenit Leningrad. Krylia Sovetov participated in 48 seasons of the Soviet Top League and 13 in the Russian Premier League, as well as 43 USSR Cups and 13 Russian Cups. FC Khujand ( tg, Клуби футболи «Хуҷанд»), ( fa, باشگاه فوتبال خجند), is a Tajik professional football club based in Khujand, currently playing in the Ligai Olii Tojikiston, the top division in the country. History FС Khujand was established in 1976 from the remnants of the club Pomir which was previously known as Miner. The first head coach of the team was Vladimir Burin. FC Khujand competed in the Central Asian Championship B League for 15 years. FC Meshakhte is a Georgian association football club based in Tkibuli. Following the 2022 season, the club was relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football system. History Meshakhte participated in the Georgian Soviet league and twice, in 1980 and 1981, became champions. In 1964 and 1976 they also won the domestic Cup. FC Dinamo Batumi is a Georgian football club based in Batumi, Adjara, and current vice-champion of Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Georgian football system. FC Locomotive Tbilisi is a Georgian football club from the capital, Tbilisi. During the existence of the USSR the club was a part of the Lokomotiv Voluntary Sports Society. The club has strong connections with the Georgian Railways. History Locomotive was founded on 14 August 1936 as a part of Lokomotiv sports society.
