1968–69 Cypriot Second Division
The 1968–69 Cypriot Second Division was the 14th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. Enosis Neon Paralimni FC won their 1st title. Format Thirteen teams participated in the 1968–79 Cypriot Second Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first team was promoted to 1969–70 Cypriot First Division. The champion was promoted to 1969–70 Cypriot First Division. Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division () is the second highest association football, football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administered by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top three teams being Promotion and relegation, promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams being Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. History The Cypriot Second Division started unofficially the 1934–35 football season as the second level of the Cypriot football (Cyprus Football Association founded in 1934). The competition consisted of teams that didn't participate in Cypriot First Division and the reserve teams of the Cypriot First Division clubs. In the reserve teams were allowed to participate only players that had no more than three caps with their team in First Division. The reserve teams won all the titles of the unofficial period. The 1968–69 Cypriot Cup was the 27th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 16 clubs entered the competition. It began with the first round and concluded on 29 June 1969 with the final which was held at GSP Stadium (1902). APOEL FC, APOEL won their 6th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating AC Omonia, Omonoia 1–0 in the final. Currently playing in the Cypriot First Division, first division, it holds home games at the Paralimni Stadium, Paralimni Municipal Stadium "Tasos Marcou", which holds 5,800 people. History Enosis Neon Paralimniou was founded in April 1944, following the merger of two Paralimni clubs, Heracles and People's Love. The club's emblem is the Parthenon, with a trumpeter and the year 1936 inscription, birth year of the club Heracles.
