"Dancin' Party" is a song written by Kal Mann and Dave Appell and performed by Chubby Checker. In 1962, the track reached No. 12 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and No. 19 on the Canadian and UK Singles Charts. It was featured on his 1963 compilation album, ''Chubby Checker's Biggest Hits''. Patsy Cline
Patsy Cline (born Virginia Patterson Hensley; September 8, 1932 – March 5, 1963) was an American singer. One of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century, she was known as one of the first country music artists to successfully Crossover music, cross over into pop music. Cline had several major hits during her eight-year recording career, including two number-one hits on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Hot Country Songs, Hot Country and Western Sides chart. Born in Winchester, Virginia, Cline's first professional performances began in 1948 at local radio station WINC (AM), WINC when she was 15. In the early 1950s, Cline began appearing in a local band led by performer Bill Peer. Various local appearances led to featured performances on Connie B. 1963 Camden PA-24 Crash
On March 5, 1963, the American country music performers Patsy Cline (born Virginia Patterson Hensley), Harold Franklin "Hawkshaw" Hawkins, Lloyd Estel "Cowboy" Copas, and pilot Ramsey Dorris "Randy" Hughes were killed in an airplane crash near Camden, Tennessee, United States. Mr. Hughes was also Cline's manager and Copas' son-in-law. The accident occurred as the four occupants were returning home to Nashville, Tennessee, after performing in Kansas City, Kansas. Shortly after takeoff from a refueling stop, Hughes lost control of the small Piper PA-24 Comanche while flying in low-visibility conditions, and crashed into a wooded area, leaving no survivors. Investigators concluded that the crash was caused by the non-instrument-rated pilot's decision to operate under visual flight rules in instrument meteorological conditions. Northern Songs
Northern Songs Ltd was a limited company founded in 1963, by music publisher Dick James, artist manager Brian Epstein, and songwriters John Lennon and Paul McCartney of the Beatles, to publish songs written by Lennon and McCartney. In 1965, it was decided to make Northern Songs a public company, to reduce their income tax burden. After Epstein died in 1967, Lennon and McCartney sought to renegotiate their publishing deal with James but, early in 1969, James and his partner sold their shares in Northern Songs to Britain's Associated Television (ATV), without warning Lennon or McCartney. Lennon and McCartney attempted to gain a controlling interest in Northern Songs but their bid failed, because the financial power of Lew Grade ensured that Northern Songs passed into the control of ATV. Paul Anka
Paul Albert Anka (born July 30, 1941) is a Canadian and American singer, songwriter and actor. His songs include " Diana", “ You Are My Destiny", “Lonely Boy", " Put Your Head on My Shoulder", and " (You're) Having My Baby". The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph record, vinyl records and Compact cassette, cassettes, and the terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side of a Single (music), single usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay, with the aim of it becoming a hit record. The B-side (or "flip-side") is a secondary recording that typically receives less attention, although some B-sides have been as successful as, or more so than, their A-sides.
