Ekstraklasa
(; meaning "Extra Class" in Polish), officially known as PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa due to its Sponsor (commercial), sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is a professional association football league in Poland and the highest level of the Polish football league system. Contested by 18 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the I liga, seasons start in July, and end in May or June the following year. Teams play a total of 34 games each. Games are played on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. The winner of the qualifies for the Polish Super Cup. Since 2005, the league is operated by the S.A. (corporation), Spółka Akcyjna. ŁKS Łódź (''Łódzki Klub Sportowy Łódź''; ) is a Polish sports club based in Łódź. They are best known for their football club but are represented in many sports such as basketball, volleyball, boxing, and in the past ice hockey, athletics, tennis, table tennis, swimming, cycling, fencing, chess, etc. The club is based at Władysław Król Municipal Stadium, at Aleja Unii Lubelskiej 2 in the West of Łódź. Joachim was, according to Sacred tradition, the husband of Saint Anne, the father of Mary (mother of Jesus), and the maternal grandfather of Jesus. Ernest Pol
Ernest Pohl (3 November 1932 – 12 September 1995), a.k.a. Ernst Pol, was a Polish footballer who played as a striker. With 186 goals, he is the Polish top division's record goalscorer. Career Pohl scored 39 goals in 46 international matches for Poland national football team and to this day remains the most prolific Ekstraklasa. He played for Slavia Ruda Śląska, Orzeł Łódź between 1952 and 1953, CWKS Warsaw between 1953 and 1956 and Górnik Zabrze between 1957 and 1967. During the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, he scored five goals in a 6–1 win against Tunisia. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification in 1990, he relocated to Germany, where his wife and daughters had moved earlier. In 2004, Górnik Zabrze's stadium was named after him. Erwin Wilczek
Erwin Feliks Wilczek (20 November 1940 – 30 November 2021) was a Polish professional footballer. He started his career as a forward, after some time he was moved to the midfield. He holds the record for winning the most Polish domestic competitions as a player, with 15 official titles, all while playing for Górnik Zabrze. Career Wilczek was born in Wirek, a district of Ruda Śląska. He began his career with local team Wawel Wirek. In 1954, he moved to Zryw Chorzów, before joining Górnik Zabrze in 1959, where he stayed until 1973. He made 293 Ekstraklasa appearances for Górnik, and 101 more in other competitions such as the Polish Cup or European cups. He scored a total of 96 league goals for the Silesian club. Jan Konrad Liberda (26 November 1936 – 6 February 2020) was a Polish footballer who played as a forward. Liberda played mostly for one team, Polonia Bytom, where he remained since 1950, until 1969. He ended his career in 1971 at AZ. He twice was the top scorer of the Ekstraklasa, in 1959 with 21 goals, and in 1962 with 16 goals. Also, in 1962, he won championship of Poland. All together, Liberda played in 304 of Polonia's games, scoring 146 goals. Liberda 35 times capped for Poland, scoring 8 goals. He debuted on 20 May 1959 in Hamburg, in a 1–1 tie with West Germany. He later managed TuS Schloß Neuhaus. He died in February 2020 at the age of 83.
