List Of Governors Of Karnataka
The governor of Karnataka, formerly governor of Mysore, is the constitutional head of the Indian state of Karnataka. The governor is appointed by the president of India, and holds office at the president's pleasure. The governor is ''de jure'' head of the government of Karnataka; all its executive actions are taken in the governor's name. However, the governor must act on the advice of the popularly elected council of ministers, headed by the chief minister of Karnataka, which thus holds '' de facto'' executive authority in the state. Burgula Ramakrishna Rao
Burgula Ramakrishna Rao (13 March 1899 – 14 September 1967) was the first and last Chief Minister of the erstwhile Hyderabad State. Prior to the independence of India and the political integration of the princely states into the Union, he was among the Telugu-speaking leaders to resist the Nizam in the princely state of Hyderabad. He was a multi lingual academic, known for his scholarship in Sanskrit and Telugu. He was also a poet and translator (his works may be cited). Career He received famous “Allies” scholarship and graduated in law in Mumbai and took up the legal profession in Hyderabad but continued for a few days only. He was imprisoned twice for participating in public movements. He gave up the law portfolio given by Mirza Ismail, the Dewan (Prime Minister) of Hyderabad State. Narahar Vishnu Gadgil
Narhar Vishnu Gadgil (10 January 1896 – 12 January 1966) was an Indian freedom fighter and politician from Maharashtra, India. He was also a writer. He wrote in both Marathi language, Marathi and English. His son Vitthalrao Gadgil represented Congress later as minister and ideologue. His grandson Anant Gadgil also went on to become a politician. Gadgil graduated from Fergusson College in Pune in 1918, and obtained a degree in Law in 1920. The Governor of Odisha is the head of the Indian state of Odisha. The governors have similar powers and functions at the state level as those of the president of India at central level. They exist in the state appointed by the president of India and they are not local to the state that they are appointed to govern. Sri Prakasa
Sri Prakasa (3 August 1890 – 23 June 1971) was an Indian politician, freedom-fighter and administrator. He served as India's first High Commissioner to Pakistan from 1947 to 1949, Governor of Assam from 1949 to 1950, Governor of Madras from 1952 to 1956 and Governor of Bombay from 1956 to 1962. Sri Prakasa was born in Varanasi in 1890. In his early days, he participated in the Indian independence movement and was jailed. After India's independence, he served as an administrator and cabinet minister. Sri Prakasa died in 1971 at the age of 80. Early life Sri Prakasa was born on 3 August 1890 in Varanasi to Bhagwan Das.
