Fredrick John William Rice (November 10, 1918 – March 8, 2005) was an American football coach. He served as head football coach at Colgate University for two seasons, from 1957 until 1958, compiling a record of 4–14. Michie Stadium is an outdoor football stadium on the campus of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York. The 1957 Army Cadets football team represented the United States Military Academy as an independent during the 1957 NCAA University Division football season. In their 17th year under head coach Earl Blaik, the Cadets compiled a 7–2 record and outscored their opponents 251 to 129. In the annual Army–Navy Game at Philadelphia, the Cadets lost 14–0 to the Midshipmen. Army's other loss was in the same stadium, by two points to Notre Dame in mid-October.
