The Netherlands Football League Championship 1955–1956 was contested by 36 teams participating in two divisions. The national champion was determined by a play-off featuring the two best placed teams in both divisions of the Netherlands. Rapid JC won this year's championship by beating NAC, Elinkwijk and Sparta Rotterdam. The Eredivisie (; "Honour Division" or "Premier Division") is a professional association football league in the Netherlands and the highest level of the Dutch football league system. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. As of the 2024–25 season, it is UEFA coefficient#Men's association coefficient, ranked the sixth-best league in Europe by UEFA. The Eredivisie consists of 18 clubs. Each club meets every other club twice during the season, once at home and once away. NOAD (football Club)
TSV NOAD was an association football club based in Tilburg, Netherlands. Founded in 1910, the club played at the highest level of Dutch football between 1918 and 1961. History NOAD was founded on 5 June 1910. Unlike most other clubs in North Brabant, the club was not formed as Roman Catholic but was rather secular. Initially, NOAD mainly played friendly matches against Roman Catholic institutes. Many so-called Roman Catholic clubs were not allowed by the clergy to play the "savages" of NOAD. The first competitive league matches were played as Brabantian Football Association (BVB). In November 1917, the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) placed NOAD in the National 2nd Klasse B.
