1955 Small Club World Cup
The 1955 Small Club World Cup was the fourth edition of the Small Club World Cup, a tournament held in Venezuela between 1952 and 1957, in certain years between 1963 and 1970, and in 1975. It was played by four participants, half from Europe and half from South America in double round-robin tournament, round robin format and featured players like Mario Coluna, José Águas, goalkeeper Costa Pereira for Benfica, Dino Sani, Nílton de Sordi for Sao Paulo, Dutch Faas Wilkes and Pasieguito for Valencia. As A.C. Cúcuta Deportivo Fútbol Club S. A. (Spanish ), commonly referred to as Cúcuta Deportivo, is a professional Colombian football club from the city of Cúcuta. Daniel Mañó
Daniel Mañó Villagrasa (27 February 1932 – 5 August 2024) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward. He spent most of his career at Valencia, totalling 285 games and 49 goals. He won the Copa del Generalísimo in 1954 and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1963. He played one game for Spain in 1955. Club career Mañó was born in Sueca in the Province of Valencia. He was one of several local players from SD Sueca to move to Valencia CF in the mid-20th century. In 1951–52, Mañó was part of the Valencia reserve team, Mestalla, who won the Segunda División playoffs. The club were barred from promotion to La Liga by order of the Royal Spanish Football Federation as their parent club played in the division. Arsénio Trindade Duarte (16 October 1925 – 11 February 1986), simply known as Arsénio, was a Portuguese footballer who played as a forward. He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 313 games and 211 goals during 16 seasons, most notably at Benfica. Club career Born in Barreiro, Setúbal District, Arsénio started his career at local F.C. Barreirense, first appearing with the senior team at only 15 against Sporting Clube de Portugal, in a testimonial match for Francisco Câmara. After helping the side win the Segunda Liga championship in 1943, he signed with S.L. Benfica. Servaas Wilkes
Servaas "Faas" Wilkes (; 13 October 1923 – 15 August 2006) was a Dutch football forward, who earned a total of 38 caps for the Netherlands national team, in which he scored 35 goals (average 0.92 goals per game). However, for a prolonged period of his career, June 1949 through till March 1955, he was banned from the national team since the KNVB did not allow professional players to participate. He also played for the Netherlands at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Career Wilkes played for Xerxes Rotterdam, before moving to Internazionale in the summer of 1949. There he played 95 matches, scoring 47 goals. After his stay in Milan ended in 1952, he had a one-season spell at Torino. Enrique Buqué
Enrique Buqué Rojals (24 November 1927 – 5 May 1998) was a Spanish footballer and manager. A midfielder, whose technical ability compensated for a lack of pace, he began his career at San Andrés in the Segunda División. He played 159 total games for Valencia from 1951 to 1958, scoring 44 goals. He won the Copa del Generalísimo in 1954, having lost the final in 1952. As a manager, Buqué led Valencia to the cup final in 1970 alongside Salvador Artigas, but was not retained in his role. He also helped Sevilla avoid relegation from the Segunda División in 1974. Playing career Buqué was born in the El Clot neighbourhood in the centre of Barcelona. He began his career with local club CD San Andrés (now UE Sant Andreu) before joining Valencia CF in 1951.
