The Egypt Cup (also known as the Egyptian FA Cup and formerly as the King Farouk Cup) is the main knockout Association football, football cup competition in Egypt. It is the oldest club competition in Africa. The first team to win the trophy was Zamalek SC, Zamalek in 1922. Ad-Diba
Mohamed Diab Al-Attar (; 17 November 1927 – 30 December 2016), known as Ad-Diba (), was a footballer who played for the Al Ittihad Alexandria Club and the Egypt national football team. He later served as an international football referee. In 2007, he was named one of the 200 greatest African footballers. Biography Ad-Diba was born in Alexandria and joined the Al Ittihad Alexandria Club as a centre forward in 1944. In 1948 he helped the team win the Egypt Cup and was the top scorer in the first Egyptian Premier League tournament (alongside El-Sayed El-Dhizui). He remained with the team until 1958, when they were relegated to the Egyptian Second Division, and retired to take up refereeing. Internationally, he was a member of the Egypt national football team and competed at two editions of the Summer Olympic Games in 1948 and 1952. Raafat Attia Helmy (, 6 February 1934 – 21 July 1978) was an Egyptian professional footballer who played as a forward for Zamalek and the Egypt national team. Biography Attia started his career with Al Ittihad in 1952, he moved for Zamalek in 1957, he played for Zamalek for 10 years, and for the rest of his career. He won with Zamalek three Egyptian League titles in (1959–60, 1963–64, and 1964–65) and the Egypt Cup for four times (1958, 1959, 1960, and 1962). Abdulrahman Fawzi
Abdelrahman Fawzy () (August 11, 1909 – October 16, 1988) was an Egyptian professional football player and manager, who played as a centre forward. He played for Al-Masry SC and Zamalek SC (where he spent most of his career) as well as the Egypt national football team. He took part at the 1934 FIFA World Cup, where he scored twice for Egypt in their 4–2 loss against Hungary, which was the first time (and the only time before 1970) that an African team had competed at the FIFA World Cup. He was thus, the first African footballer to score at the World Cup. He would have been the first African to score a hat trick at the World Cup (a feat not yet achieved by any African footballer to date) but his third goal was disallowed. Kamaleddin Hussein (), better known as Sherif El-Far (; 5 January 1929 – 8 January 1981) was an Egyptian footballer. He played for Zamalek and competed with Egypt in the men's tournament at the 1952 Summer Olympics. Nicknamed the "Egypt's Puskas", he spent his whole football career with Zamalek, he won eleven titles with the Cairo giants.
