The 1952 Asian Quadrangular Football Tournament was the first edition of the Asian Quadrangular Football Tournament held in Colombo, Ceylon. India and Pakistan were declared as the joint winners. The Opening Ceremony was performed by Sir Alan Rose. The Matches took place between 9th March to the 23rd of March, The teams consisted of Burma, Ceylon, India, and Pakistan. Flt/Sgt. Moideen Kutty PP (born 2 January 1926), or Mohiuddin Kutty, was a Pakistani footballer who played as a striker. Considered as one of the earliest pioneering footballers in Pakistan history, he was the fourth captain of the Pakistan national football team after Osman Jan, Abdul Wahid Durrani and Muhammad Sharif. Born in the Madras Presidency of British India, he rose through the ranks from school football. After enlisting in the Royal Indian Air Force in 1944, he represented the Royal Indian Air Force football team. Following the partition of India, Kutty moved to Pakistan where he captained the Pakistan Air Force team. He also represented the Pakistan Army football team. Abdul Wahid Durrani
Abdul Wahid Khan Durrani (Urdu, Pashto: ; 30 June 1917 – 24 February 2008) was a Pakistani international footballer and manager. He was the second captain of the Pakistan national football team after the goalkeeper Osman Jan. Playing career Durrani was part of the Jinnah Gymkhana Football team which toured Burma and Ceylon in 1949. Durrani made his debut in Pakistan's first ever international match in 27 October 1950 against Iran at Amjadiyeh Stadium in Teheran. He later became captain of the Pakistan national football team in the 1952 Asian Quadrangular Football Tournament, where he scored a goal against Ceylon. He also scored two headers against Burma in the following match but both were disallowed. Pakiasothy Saravanamuttu Stadium (Tamil language, Tamil: பாக்கியசோதி சரவணமுத்து மைதானம், ) Colombo Oval or P. Sara or simply PSS is a multi-purpose stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is currently used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium holds 15,000 and hosted its first Test match in 1982. Pansanttom Venkatesh (1926 – 1 June 1977) was an Indian footballer. Venkatesh played for East Bengal and the India national football team during his professional career. Club career Venkatesh spent most of his club career in East Bengal, and captained the team in 1952–53. He was part of the team that played against German side Kickers Offenbach and FC Torpedo Moscow in 1953. He also scored two goals against Torpedo in their 3–3 draw at the Central Dynamo Stadium.
