1950–51 DDR-Oberliga
The 1950–51 DDR-Oberliga was the second season of the DDR-Oberliga, the first tier of East German football league system, league football in East Germany. The league was contested by 18 teams and BSG Chemie Leipzig (1950), BSG Chemie Leipzig won the championship after a championship play-off with BSG Turbine Erfurt because the two teams finished on equal points. It was Chemie Leipzig's first-ever East German championship, with the club winning a second one in 1963–64. Johannes Schöne of Fortuna Babelsberg, BSG Rotation Babelsberg was the league's top scorer with 37 goals, the highest total of any DDR-Oberliga top scorer throughout the history of the league. The 1950–51 season also saw the highest-ever goal average for the league with 3,85 goals scored per game. While the total goals scored was second only to the following season, 1,178 compare to 1,233, the 1951–52 season had 19 instead of 18 clubs in the league and therefore 36 extra season games. The DDR-Oberliga (English: ''East German Premier League'' or ''GDR Premier League'') was the top-level association football league in East Germany. Overview Following World War II, separate sports competitions emerged in the Allied-occupied Germany, occupied eastern and western halves of Germany, replacing the ''Gauligas'' of the Nazism, Nazi era. VfB Einheit Zu Pankow
VfB Einheit zu Pankow is a German association football club from the Pankow locality of Berlin. History Founded in 1893 as VfB Pankow, the club's initial interests were in cricket and tennis. Within a few years English expatriates introduced football, which soon displaced cricket. The club grew quickly and came to include departments for gymnastics, fencing, and cycling. 1. FC Lok Stendal is a German association football club that plays in Stendal, Saxony-Anhalt. History Founded in 1909, ''FC Viktoria Stendal'' was dissolved in the aftermath of World War II and re-established in Soviet occupation zone of Germany in 1945 as ''SG Stendal-Nord''. SV Dessau 05 is a German association football club based in Dessau, Saxony-Anhalt. They distinguished themselves in 1949 as winners of the inaugural FDGB-Pokal, the East German Cup. Hallescher FC
Hallescher FC, formerly known as Hallescher FC Chemie, is a Football in Germany, German association football club based in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle an der Saale, Saxony-Anhalt. The club currently plays in the Regionalliga, the fourth highest level in the German football league system. For many years, Halle had been in East Germany's highest league, the DDR-Oberliga, up-until the German reunification. However, like many other teams from the former East, it then suffered the effects of economic and demographic decline in the region in the 1990s and fell down to amateur leagues.
