The 1946 Campeonato Paulista da Primeira Divisão, organized by the Federação Paulista de Futebol, was the 45th season of São Paulo's top professional football league. São Paulo won the title for the 4th time. No teams were relegated. The top scorer was Corinthians's Servílio de Jesus with 19 goals. The Campeonato Paulista Série A1, commonly known as Campeonato Paulista, nicknamed Paulistão, is the top-flight professional state football league in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Run by the São Paulo State Football Federation (FPF), the league is contested by 16 clubs and typically lasts from January to April. Rivalries amongst four of the best-known Brazilian teams ( Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos and São Paulo) have marked the history of the competition. The Campeonato Paulista is the oldest established league in Brazil, being held since 1902 and professionally since 1933. Format Campeonato Paulista is held annually by the Federação Paulista de Futebol (São Paulo State Football Federation), or FPF, amongst teams residing within the state of São Paulo. Baltazar (footballer, Born 1926)
Oswaldo da Silva (14 January 1926 – 25 March 1997), commonly known as Baltazar, was a Brazilian footballer. Nicknamed ''Cabecinha de Ouro'' (''Golden Head'') by fans for his heading ability, he played as a forward. Club career Baltazar played for União Monte Alegre, Jabaquara, Corinthians, Juventus and União Paulista. International career Baltazar also represented the Brazil national team, including at the 1950 World Cup and 1954 World Cup. He played four matches, scoring three goals, two against Mexico and one against Switzerland. He is the only player to score in two different opening world cup matches, netting one goal in 1950 and the other in 1954. He died in São Paulo aged 71. Luís Mesquita de Oliveira, best known as ''Luisinho'', (29 March 1911, in Rio de Janeiro – 27 December 1983, in São Paulo) was an association footballer, one of the most valuable strikers of the 1930s. During his career (1928–1946) he played for Anglo Brasileira, Paulistano, Estudantes São Paulo, São Paulo and Palmeiras. He won seven São Paulo State Championship (1929, 1931, 1936, 1940, 1943, 1945, 1946) and was top goalscorer of Campeonato Paulista in 1944 with 22 goals scored. He's also the six best top goalscorer in São Paulo Futebol Clube history with 145 goals, and nine best goalscorer in Palmeiras history with 123 goals from 1935 to 1941. For the Brazil national football team he scored 4 goals at South American Championship 1937 and participated at the 1934 FIFA World Cup, played one match with Spain in Genoa, and in the 1938 FIFA World Cup, playing two matches. Leônidas da Silva (; 6 September 1913 – 24 January 2004) was a Brazilian professional association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward.
