Vincent Mentzel
Vincent Mentzel (born 28 September 1945) is a Dutch photographer, and staff photographer for the Dutch newspaper ''NRC Handelsblad'' since 1973. He is known for his photorealism. Biography Born in Hoogkarspel, Mentzel studied at the Academie van Beeldende Kunsten en Technische Wetenschappen (now Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam University of Fine Arts). Afterward he worked in the late 1960s as an assistant to the distinguished Amsterdam theatre photographer Maria Austria. From her he learned darkroom processing and printing techniques. Mentzel then worked as a freelance photojournalist for national newspapers and magazines. His early photographs are characterized by their narrow perspective, created by heavily printed skies and surroundings. His later work is lighter and more balanced. The Sloot Digital Coding System is an alleged data sharing technique that its inventor claimed could store a complete digital movie file in 8 kilobytes of data— which, if true, would dramatically disprove Shannon's source coding theorem, a widely accepted principle of information theory that predicts how much data compression of a digital file is mathematically possible. Erik van der Wurff (9 July 1945 – 22 September 2014) was a Dutch pianist, composer, arranger, record producer and conductor. He worked mainly on soundtracks and as a composer for many film and television shows. He also made acting appearances in two Dutch-German television shows in 1977 and 1980.
