The premier of Queensland is the head of government in the Australian state of Queensland. By convention the premier is the leader of the party with a parliamentary majority in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland. The premier is appointed by the governor of Queensland. David Murray Anderson
Admiral Sir David Murray Anderson, (11 April 1874 – 30 October 1936) was a British naval officer and governor. Anderson served in the Royal Navy from the age of 13 and served in many colonial wars and was given various Empire postings, rising to the rank of admiral in 1931. He retired a year later and took up the posting as Governor of Newfoundland, where he also took up the role of Chairman of the Government following the suspension of self-government in the Dominion of Newfoundland. Leaving Newfoundland in 1935, he was appointed as Governor of New South Wales but served only briefly due to his ill health. He died while in office aged 62. John Willcock
John Collings Willcock (9 August 1879 – 7 June 1956) was an Australian politician. He was the premier of Western Australia from 1936 to 1945, holding office as state leader of the Western Australian Labor Party, Australian Labor Party (ALP). He was a member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 1917 to 1947, representing the seat of Electoral district of Geraldton, Geraldton. Prior to entering politics he was a railways worker and train driver. Early life Willcock was born on 9 August 1879 in Frogmore, New South Wales. He was the sixth child born to Ellen (née Webb) and Joseph Willcock. His parents were both born in England and his father worked as a miner after moving to Australia. Willcock attended Sydney Boys High School. Philip Collier
Philip Collier (21 April 1873 – 18 October 1948) was an Australian politician who served as the 14th Premier of Western Australia from 1924 to 1930 and from 1933 to 1936. He was leader of the Labor Party from 1917 to 1936, and is Western Australia's longest-serving premier from that party. Collier was born in Victoria and came to Western Australia to work in the mines. He became involved in the union movement on the Eastern Goldfields, and entered parliament at the 1905 state election, winning the seat of Boulder (which he retained for the rest of his life). In 1911, Collier became a minister in the government of John Scaddan. He replaced Scaddan as Labor leader in 1917, in the aftermath of the split over conscription, and became premier when Labor won the 1924 state election. Collier's government was returned to office three years later, but was defeated at the 1930 election. Albert Dunstan
Sir Albert Arthur Dunstan, KCMG (26 July 1882 – 14 April 1950) was an Australian politician who served as the 33rd premier of Victoria from 1935 to 1943 and from 1943 to 1945 and as the third deputy premier of Victoria for five days in March 1935. A member of the Country Party, now the National Party, his term as premier was the second-longest in the state's history and the longest of any third-party premier. He was the first person to hold the office of premier in its own right, and not an additional duty taken up by the Treasurer, Attorney-General or Chief Secretary. Albert Ogilvie
Albert George Ogilvie (10 March 1890 – 10 June 1939) was an Australian politician and Premier of Tasmania from 22 June 1934 until his death on 10 June 1939. Early life Ogilvie was born on 10 March 1890 in Hobart, Tasmania. His parents Kate (née McGee) and James Ogilvie were publicans who ran the Victoria Tavern in Hobart. His paternal grandfather had been transported to Australia as a convict. Ogilvie attended Buckland's School in Hobart before completing his secondary education in Victoria at St Patrick's College, Ballarat. He graduated Bachelor of Laws at the University of Tasmania in 1913 and was admitted to the bar the following year, serving his articles of clerkship with Norman Ewing.
