Sliema ( ) is a town located on the northeast coast of Malta in the Northern Harbour District. It is a major residential and commercial area and a centre for shopping, bars, dining, and café life. It is also the most densely populated town on the island. Floriana ( or ''Il-Floriana''), also known by its title Borgo Vilhena, is a fortified town in the Port Region area of Malta, just outside the capital city Valletta. It has a population of 2,205 as of March 2014. Tony Nicholl
Tony Nicholl (1 January 1916 – 11 March 1999) was a Maltese footballer who played as a striker. Tony Nicholl scored 263 goals in 302 games in his 25-year career in Malta, he won 30 trophies during his time in Malta and was the league's top-scorer on 7 occasions. Club career Tony played for the Wanderers for 25 years and though many clubs wished him to don their colours, he remained loyal to his town's club. However, he played twice as a guest for Valletta F.C., but those were competitions which the Wanderers did not take part in. Even foreign clubs requested his services. Charlton Athletic, Southampton and an even the Argentina squad wanted him in their ranks but Tony did not want to leave the country because of his mother. The FA Trophy, currently known as the Meridianbet FA Trophy for sponsorship reasons, is an annual football cup competition that takes place in Malta. The cup was founded in 1933; following a match between England and Italy, played in Rome in May 1933, to where a number of pro-British Maltese supporters travelled to support the English side. The Football Association as recognition donated a silver trophy to be played on the model of the FA Cup. The team who wins the cup wins a place in the First qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. This competition is now played on a knock-out basis between all the senior clubs in the Maltese and Gozitan football pyramids. The cup winners play a match for the Maltese Super Cup against the league champions of the season. Format The ten teams from the First Division and the teams which placed from 4th to the 10th position in the previous season's league, participate in the first round. Gżira () is a town in the Eastern Region, Malta, Eastern Region of Malta. It is located between Msida and Sliema, also bordering on Ta' Xbiex. It has a population of 11,699 as of January 2019. Msida (, ) is a harbour town in the Eastern Region of Malta with a population of 7,623 (2021). Location The town is located just west of Valletta on the northeast coast of Malta.
