Richard Kirman Sr
Richard Kirman Sr. (January 14, 1877 – January 19, 1959) was an American politician. He was the 17th Governor of Nevada from 1935 to 1939. He was a member of the Democratic Party. Biography Kirman was born in Virginia City, Nevada, and educated in the Nevada public schools. He graduated from Lincoln High School in San Francisco, California. In San Francisco, on January 19, 1898, he married Mabelle Jean King and the couple had two children, Richard and Claire. Career Returning to Nevada, Kirman began working in banking. He was elected to the Nevada State Assembly in 1899. In 1902, he was appointed a member of the Board of Regents of the University of Nevada and was in that position until 1904. Elected mayor of Reno, Nevada, Kirman served in that position from 1907 to 1909. He successfully served as President of Reno's First National Bank during the Great Depression. The lieutenant governor of Nevada is a constitutional officer in the executive branch of government of the U.S. state of Nevada. Morley Griswold (Nevada Governor)
Morley Isaac Griswold (October 10, 1890 – October 3, 1951) was an American politician. He was the 16th governor of Nevada. He was a member of the Republican Party. Biography Griswold was born near Lamoille, Nevada, on October 10, 1890. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1913, and received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1915. He practiced law in Reno. A Republican, he served as Reno City Attorney from 1915 to 1926. Griswold served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was the 16th lieutenant governor of Nevada from 1927 to 1934. He became the governor of Nevada upon the death of Governor Frederick Balzar on March 21, 1934. Unsuccessful in his election bid, he left office in January 1935.
