Oktay EkÅŸi
Osman Oktay Ekşi (born 7 December 1932) is a Turkish journalist, author and politician. He has spent much of his career at the newspaper ''Hürriyet'', and was its Chief Columnist from 1974 to 1983 and from 1985 to 2010. A founding member and vice chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SODEP), he was elected as a member of Parliament for the Republican People's Party (CHP) in the 2011 general election. Journalism career He started his journalism career as a reporter for the Ankara News Agency (ANKA) in 1952. Between 1952 and 1954, he was the Ankara Correspondent for '' Dünya'' ("World"), a daily newspaper. He served as Ankara Bureau Chief of Dünya between 1954 and 1960. Ülkü Adatepe
Ülkü Adatepe (born Ülkü Çukurluoğlu; November 27, 1932 – August 1, 2012) was the youngest adopted daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Her interactions with Atatürk were often featured in Turkish media, including the cover of the ''Alfabe'' textbook, which featured Ülkü studying with Atatürk. She died in a road accident in 2012. Füruzan
Füruzan (born Füruzan Yerdelen, October 29, 1932) is a self-taught Turkish writer, who is highly regarded for her sensitive characterisations of the poor and her depictions of Turkish immigrants abroad. Biography Born in Istanbul, Turkey, she enjoyed reading as a child but left school in the eighth grade following the death of her father. She worked as an actress with the Little Theater acting company and began writing poems and short stories. She married cartoonist Turhan Selçuk in 1958 and the couple had one child before they divorced. She became a full-time writer following her divorce in 1968. Muammer Sun
Muammer Sun (15 October 1932 – 16 January 2021) was a Turkish composer of classical music. Biography Sun was born in Ankara. He entered the Military Band School in 1947 and the Ankara State Conservatory in 1953. He studied under Ahmet Adnan Saygun on composition, Hasan Ferit Alnar on conducting, Muzaffer Sarıözen on folk music, M.R. Gazimihal, Ruşen Ferit Kam on traditional folk music and Kemal İlerici on Modes and Harmonies of Turkish Music. He graduated from Ankara State Conservatory on composition in 1960. He taught at the Ankara, İzmir, Istanbul State Conservatories and at the Music Department of Gazi University Institute of Education. Atilla Karaosmanoğlu (20 September 1932 – 11 November 2013) was a Turkish economist and politician. Background Karosmanoğlu was born in Manisa, Turkey in 1931. After graduating from the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University in 1954, he earned a doctorate at the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University. He later served as part-time lecturer at NYU and Harvard University. Professional life After returning to Turkey, Karosmanoğlu served as a manager of the State Planning Organization of Turkey. Yalçın Granit (17 September 1932 – 1 November 2020) was a Turkish basketball player, coach and sports journalist. Biography He was born in Istanbul on 17 September 1932. Müşfik Galip Kenter (9 September 1932 – 15 August 2012) was a Turkish theatre and voice actor. He was of English descent from his maternal side. Müşfik Kenter was born to diplomat Ahmet Naci Kenter and his wife Nadide, née Olga Cynthia, in Istanbul on 11 October 1928. Turgay Åžeren
Turkay Sabit Şeren (15 May 1932 – 7 July 2016) was a Turkish football player, who was a one-time goalkeeper of Galatasaray. He played for Galatasaray between 1947 and 1966 and was capped 52 times for Turkey, including two matches at the 1954 FIFA World Cup. His heroic saves against West Germany in 1951 in Berlin was what he is still remembered for. Turkey had won 2–1. Because of that unforgettable day, he is nicknamed as "Berlin Panteri" (Panther of Berlin). He also coached Galatasaray. Şeren was awarded a testimonial match by the club in 1967 in Istanbul, inviting players like Ion Pârcălab, Lev Yashin and Ion Nunweiller.
