Francisca Aguirre
Francisca Aguirre Benito (27 October 1930 – 13 April 2019) was a Spanish poet and author. Her first poetry collection, ''Ithaca'', published in 1972, won her the Leopoldo Panero Poetry Award. In 2011, she won the National Poetry Award for her poetry piece ''Historia de una anatomía''. Aguirre also won the National Prize for Spanish Literature in November 2018. Biography Aguirre was born in Alicante, the daughter of noted painter Lorenzo Aguirre. She was married to fellow poet Félix Grande from 1963 until his death in 2014. Aguirre and Grande had a daughter, poet and essayist Guadalupe Grande (born 1965). She was an aunt of poet Carlos Martínez Aguirre. Valeriano Weyler y Nicolau, 1st Duke of Rubí, 1st Marquess of Tenerife (17 September 1838 – 20 October 1930) was a Spanish general and colonial administrator who served as the Governor-General of the Philippines and Cuba, and later as Spanish Minister for War. Early life and career Weyler was born in 1838 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. His distant paternal ancestors were originally Prussians and served in the Spanish army for several generations. He was educated in his place of birth and in Granada. Weyler decided to enter the Spanish army, being influenced by his father, a military doctor. He graduated from the Infantry School of Toledo at the age of 16. At 20, Weyler had achieved the rank of lieutenant, and he was appointed the rank of captain in 1861. In 1863, he was transferred to Cuba, and his participation in the campaign of Santo Domingo earned him the Laureate Cross of Saint Ferdinand. Arsenio Iglesias Pardo (born 24 December 1930) is a Spanish former football forward and manager. Nicknamed ''O Bruxo de Arteixo'' ("The Wizard of Arteixo"), his professional career, which spanned more than four decades, was closely associated to Deportivo as both a player and manager. Playing career Born in Arteixo, Province of A Coruña, Iglesias started his career with local side Deportivo de La Coruña. He made his La Liga debut on 28 October 1951 in a 6–1 away loss against FC Barcelona, and scored the following weekend against RCD Español (3–1 home win). Iglesias netted seven goals in three separate seasons for the Galicians, adding a career-best eight in 1956–57, which nonetheless ended in relegation. In six of the following eight years he also played in the top division, representing Sevilla FC, Granada CF and Real Oviedo; he amassed competition totals of 238 games and 50 goals, and retired at 35 after a spell in the lower leagues with Albacete Balompié. Andrés Reguera (16 November 1930 – 6 June 2000) was a Spanish jurist, businessman and politician who served at the Spanish Parliament. He was the minister of information and tourism between 7 July 1976 and 4 July 1977. Early life and education Reguera was born in Segovia on 16 November 1930. His parents were Germán Reguera Antón and Pilar Guajardo Miñón. He was a graduate of the Complutense University of Madrid, where he received a degree in law in 1952. Career Reguera was an assistant professor at his alma mater in 1957. He worked as a lawyer in Vizcaya from 1961 to 1965 and as legal advisor at the Ministry of Public Works from 1965 to 1968. He also served as the counselor of the Renfe-Operadora, a state-owned railway company, and of the Banco de Crédito Local. He was elected as a deputy in 1967 and served in the IX Legislature until 1971 representing the province of Segovia.
