1926–27 In Belgian Football
The 1926–27 season was the 27th season of competitive football in Belgium. This was the first season after the major reform of Belgian football. The Belgian Cup was first played since World War I and won by RCS Brugeois. They also won the Premier Division making the second double in Belgian football after Union Saint-Gilloise in 1912-13. R Liersche SK won the Division I now the second level of football and thus promoted for the next Premier Division along with the runner-up SC Anderlechtois. Both clubs replaced FC Malinois and CS La Forestoise at the highest level. A third level of football was introduced, named Promotion and played in 3 leagues of 14 clubs. The leagues were won by Courtrai Sports, CS Tongrois and Fléron FC. All 3 clubs promoted to the Division I, while AS Herstalienne, Saint-Ignace SC Antwerpen and SRU Verviers were all relegated to the Promotion. The Netherlands National Football Team
The Netherlands national football team ( or simply ''Het Nederlands elftal'') has represented the Netherlands in international men's football matches since 1905. Hohe Warte Stadium
Hohe Warte Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Vienna, Austria. It is located on the Hohe Warte hill in Heiligenstadt, a northern suburb in the 19th Viennese district of Döbling. Primarily a football venue and the home of First Vienna FC, it has also occasionally played host to Austrian international rugby union matches and the Vienna Vikings American Football team. Florimond Van Halme
Florimond Vanhalme (21 March 1895 – 4 July 1979) was a Belgium football midfielder, who still is record Belgian international for Cercle Brugge, the team where he spent all of his career. After his playing career, Vanhalme stayed in football as coach. Vanhalme debuted at the highest level on 5 May 1912, in a match against Excelsior Brussel. The match was won 1–4, with Vanhalme scoring once. One season later, Vanhalme was part of the squad that played the cup final against Union SG. After 90 minutes, the score was 2–2, and with no rules about what should be done, officials of the KBVB/URBSFA decided on the spot that extra time had to be played. This would be the first time in Belgian football history that a match would be decided this way. Union SG eventually won the match with 3–2. The Edmond Machtens Stadium (; ) is a association football, football stadium located in the municipality of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean in Brussels, Belgium. Raymond Braine
Raymond Ernest Michel Braine (28 April 1907 – 24 December 1978) was a Belgian football striker. He was also the first Belgian professional player, when he obtained a transfer to Sparta Prague in 1930. Braine played in 54 matches for the Belgium national football team and scored 26 times, making him Belgium's 5th top all-time scorer. Career highlights His first club was Beerschot in Antwerp. Braine made his Belgian Championship debut on 11 February 1923 against Daring Club de Bruxelles (lost 3-0). He scored 4 times in 4 appearances that season and Beerschot finished second.
