Mai Zetterling
Mai Elisabeth Zetterling (; 24 May 1925 – 17 March 1994) was a Swedish film director, novelist and actor. Early life Zetterling was born in Västerås, Sweden to a working class family. She started her career as an actor at the age of 17 at Dramaten, the Swedish national theatre, appearing in war-era films. Career Zetterling appeared in film and television productions spanning six decades from the 1940s to the 1990s. Her breakthrough came in the 1944 film '' Torment'' written for her by Ingmar Bergman, in which she played a controversial role as a tormented shopgirl. Shortly afterwards she moved to England and gained instant success there with her title role in Basil Dearden's '' Frieda'' (1947) playing opposite David Farrar. After a brief return to Sweden in which she worked with Bergman again in his film '' Music in Darkness'' (1948), she returned to Britain and starred in a number of UK films, playing against such leading men as Tyrone Power, Dirk Bogarde, Richard Widm ... Frigga Carlberg
Frigga Carlberg, née Anna Fredrika Lundgren (10 August 1851 – 3 October 1925), was a Swedish writer, social worker, feminist and advocate for women's suffrage. She was a member of the central committee of the National Association for Women's Suffrage from 1903 to 1921 and chair of the Gothenburg branch of the Swedish Society for Woman Suffrage from 1902 to 1921. Biography Frigga Carlberg was born in the parish of Falkenberg in Halland County, Sweden. She was born into a wealthy family but had great difficulty to persuade her father to allow her to study. She moved to Gothenburg after her marriage to the post official Andreas Carlberg (1850–1921) in 1876. Emilia Augusta Clementina Broomé, née ''Lothigius'' (13 January 1866 – 2 June 1925), was a Swedish politician ( liberal), feminist and peace activist. She was the first woman in the Swedish legislative assembly (1914). Life Emilia Broomé was born on 13 October 1866 in Jönköping. raised in Jönköping, where she studied at the local girls school. She was given her professional degree at Wallinska skolan in 1883 and graduated in philosophy and medicine in Uppsala in 1884. She was thereafter employed as a teacher at the school of Anna Whitlock in Stockholm. The Nobel Peace Prize is one of the five Nobel Prizes established by the will of Swedish industrialist, inventor and armaments (military weapons and equipment) manufacturer Alfred Nobel, along with the prizes in Chemistry, Physics, Physiology or Medicine and Literature. Signe Hebbe
Signe Amanda Georgina Hebbe (30 July 1837 – 14 February, 1925) was a Swedish operatic soprano and instructor. Life Signe Hebbe was born in Värnamo to the journalist Vendela Hebbe and Clemens Hebbe. Education In 1848, at the age of eleven, she was enrolled at the school of the Royal Swedish Opera. She was a student of Karolina Bock and studied music at the Lindblad piano school. In 1852–1854, she was a student at the conservatory in Berlin. Signe Hebbe made her debut as an actress at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in 1855. She was not given good reviews in spoken drama, and therefore resumed her studies in singing. In 1856, she was enrolled as a student at the Paris conservatory. She was the first student from Scandinavia to be given an award at the Paris conservatory. She gave lessons in "plastic" (mimic) herself and, in 1860, came to act as the instructor of Sarah Bernhardt, when she replaced Bernhardt's ordinary teacher Élie during his absence.
