The 1912 Football Association Charity Shield was played on 4 May 1912. The game was played at White Hart Lane, home of Tottenham Hotspur, and was contested by the Football League champions Blackburn Rovers and the winners of the Southern League championship, Queens Park Rangers. FA Community Shield
The Football Association Community Shield (formerly the Charity Shield) is Football in England, English football's annual match contested at Wembley Stadium between the champions of the previous Premier League season and the holders of the FA Cup. If the Premier League champions also won the FA Cup, then the league runners-up provide the opposition. The fixture is recognised as a competitive super cup by the Football Association and UEFA. Organised by the FA, proceeds from the game are distributed to community initiatives and charities around the country. Revenue from the gate receipts and match programme sales is distributed to the 124 clubs who competed in the FA Cup from the first round onwards, for onward distribution to charities and projects of their choice, while the remainder is distributed to the FA's national charity partners. The 1911–12 season was the 41st season of competitive football in England. Overview Blackburn Rovers won the First Division title for the first time. Preston North End and Bury were relegated, to be replaced by Second Division Champions Derby County and runners up, Chelsea. Walter Campbell Allison Aitkenhead (21 May 1887 – 19 July 1966) was a Scottish footballer who played for Partick Thistle, Blackburn Rovers and the Scotland national team. Aitkenhead was born in Maryhill, Glasgow and played just four matches for his first club Partick Thistle before being signed by English club Blackburn Rovers in September 1906. He remained with Blackburn for the remainder of his career, winning the 1911-12 and 1913-14 league championships. The 1913 FA Charity Shield was the sixth staging of the FA Charity Shield, an annual association football match arranged to raise funds for charitable causes supported by the Football Association (the FA), the governing body of football in England. The match was contested by select teams of amateur and professional players. It was played on 6 October 1913 at The Den, London, and ended as a 7–2 win for the Professionals.
