The 1909 Paris–Tours was the sixth edition of the Paris–Tours cycle race and was held on 26 September 1909. The race started in Paris and finished in Tours. The race was won by François Faber. François Faber
François Faber (; 26 January 1887 – 9 May 1915) was a Luxembourgish racing cyclist. He was born in France. He was the first foreigner to win the Tour de France in 1909, and his record of winning 5 consecutive stages still stands. Origins Faber's father, Jean-François, was born in Wiltz, Luxembourg, which gave his son Luxembourgish nationality. His mother, Marie-Paule, was born in Lorraine (region), Lorraine. François Faber had a Luxembourgish passport but lived in France and considered himself French.
