Statistics of the Football Tournament in the 1901–02 season. Overview It was contested by 5 teams. Boldklubben Frem, the workers' club from the Copenhagen district Valby, won the DBU championship for the first time by overcoming defending champions and local rivals Boldklubben af 1893. The winning side included Stefan Rasmussen, Axel Andersen Byrval, and Louis Østrup, as well as the brothers Otto and Victor Andersen, who later changed their surname to Vilager. Since Copenhagen now had two decent pitches, this season, the 1901–02 season was thus the first one with two league matches played simultaneously. Copenhagen Series for men (), unofficially also known as Københavnerserien and often shortened to KS serien and KS Herre, is the highest division for men organised by the regional football association DBU Copenhagen, DBU København (DBUK) and one of the sixth-highest divisions overall in the Danish football league system. The league, deciding the Copenhagen Football Championship (), was introduced as a tournament exclusively for amateur clubs located in Copenhagen beginning with the 1889–90 Football Tournament, 1889–90 season under the auspices of the Danish Football Association (DBU). With the formation of a regional association for the Copenhagen area in 1903, the administration of the league was handed over to the newly founded DBU Copenhagen, Københavns Boldspil-Union (KBU). Holger Nielsen (fodboldspiller)
Holger Louis Nielsen (18 December 1866 in Copenhagen – 26 January 1955 in Hellerup) was a Danish fencing, fencer, shooting sports, sport shooter, and sport of athletics, athlete. He competed at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. He is probably best known for drawing up the first set of rules for the game of handball. Fencing Nielsen's main sport was fencing, in which he competed in the sabre. At Athens, Nielsen placed third in the sabre event. He split his matches in the five-man, round-robin tournament. Nielsen defeated Adolf Schmal and Georgios Iatridis, but lost to Telemachos Karakalos and Ioannis Georgiadis. This 2–2 record put Nielsen in third place. Firearms competitions In the military rifle event, Nielsen quit the competition after the first day. He had shot 20 times out of the full 40, though his score was unknown.
