The 17th Texas Legislature met from January 11, 1881, to May 5, 1882, in its regular session and one called session. All members of the House of Representatives and about half of the members of the Senate were elected in 1880 General Election. 1880 Texas General Election
Year 188 (CLXXXVIII) was a leap year starting on Monday of the Julian calendar. Anson Frank Rainey (January 11, 1930 – February 19, 2011) was professor emeritus of ancient Near Eastern cultures and Semitic linguistics at Tel Aviv University.
