Melchior Adam Weikard
Melchior Adam Weikard was born on April 27, 1742, near Fulda Germany. He was a physician and a philosopher. Weikard wrote the earliest reference to the behavioral disorder attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He was progressive for his time, believing that illnesses have physical causes and that they are not a result of moral wrongs or the spiritual influences. Weikard died near his birthplace on July 25, 1803. Early life Weikard grew up around Fulda and, at the age of six, developed a spinal deformity. In secondary school, at the Frobenius-Gymnasium in Hammelburg, Weikard studied in the modern-day equivalent of the STEM program.  Weikard then went on to study physics, philosophy, and medicine at the University of Würzburg. Percivall Pott
Percivall Pott (6 January 1714, in London – 22 December 1788) was an English surgeon, one of the founders of orthopaedics, and the first scientist to demonstrate that cancer may be caused by an environmental carcinogen, namely chimney sweeps' carcinoma. Many diseases are his namesake including Pott's fracture, Pott's disease of the spine, and Pott's puffy tumour. It is believed that Pott's standard of living contributed to the rise of the surgeon within social standings. Stanhope Demonstrator
The Stanhope Demonstrator was the first machine to solve problems in logic. It was designed by Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl Stanhope to demonstrate consequences in logic symbolically. The first model was constructed in 1775. It consisted of two slides coloured red and gray mounted in a square brass frame. This could be used to demonstrate the solution to a syllogistic type of problem in which objects might have two different properties and the question was how many would have both properties. Scales marked zero to ten were used to set the numbers or proportions of objects with the two properties.
