''A Royal Affair'' ( da, En kongelig affære) is a 2012 drama film directed by Nikolaj Arcel, starring Mads Mikkelsen, Alicia Vikander and Mikkel Følsgaard. The story is set in the 18th century, at the court of the mentally ill King Christian VII of Denmark, and focuses on the romance between his wife, Caroline Matilda of Great Britain, and the royal physician Johann Friedrich Struensee. Johanne Seizberg
Johanne Seizberg (1732–1772) was a Danish artist, drawing artist, and illustrator, and a teacher. Probably born in Augsburg in Germany, She was daughter of the printer Riedlinger and married Lieutenant Simon Philippinus Nerius Seizberg. From 1754, she was a student of the artist couple Frants Michael Regenfuss and Margaretha Ludwig. She illustrated the ''Auserlesne Schnecken, Musscheln und andere Schaalthiere'' (1758), and the ''Flora Danica'' (1761). In 1762, she became a teacher in the art school for female students protected by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 1772, the school was closed after the fall of Johann Friedrich Struensee Lensgreve Johann Friedrich Struensee (5 August 1737 – 28 April 1772) was a German-Danish physician, philosopher and statesman. Christen Lindencrone
Christen Lindencrone (24 December 1703 - 17 August 1772) was a Danish landowner and supercargo of the Danish Asia Company. He owned Gjorslev Manor on Stevns and constructed the Lindencrone Mansion (''Lindencrones Palæ'') on Bredgade in Copenhagen. He was ennobled in 1757 with the surname Lindencrone. Biography He was born Christian Jensen Lintrup on 24 December 1703 in the village of Løgstør in Vesthimmerland, Denmark. His parents were Jens Christensen Lendrup (ca. 1668-1716) and Anne Povelsdatter. He participated as a 2nd assistant on the ship '' Cron Printz Christian'' on Danish Asiatic Company's first voyage to China in 1730. By 1738 he had been promoted to 1st supercargo with responsibility of loading and purchase of goods. He had become a wealthy man by the time he completed his fifth voyage to China in 1740-42. Ulrik Fredrik De Cicignon
Ulrik Frederik de Cicignon (1698 – 8 June 1772) was a Norwegian military officer. He is best known for his part in ''Strilekrigen'', an 18th-century farmer's rebellion, in Bergen. Early life He was probably born at Akershus Fortress in Christiania (now Oslo, Norway). He was the son of Major General Frederik Christoph von Cicignon (-1719) and Karen Hausmann (1682-1744). He was also the grandson of the Luxembourg-born military officer and engineer, Johan Caspar von Cicignon (1625-1696). He studied at the Académie des Chevaliers in Strasbourg and the Académie de Lorraine in Nancy, France. Career In 1718, he was appointed First Lieutenant within the Søndenfjeldske Gevorbne Infantry Regiment. He became captain in 1720 and then rose through the ranks until 1746 when he was made Colonel and head of the 2nd Vesterlenske National Infantry Regiment.
