Frederick IV ( Danish: ''Frederik''; 11 October 1671 – 12 October 1730) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1699 until his death. Frederick was the son of Christian V of Denmark-Norway and his wife Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. Early life Frederick was born on 11 October 1671 at Copenhagen Castle as the eldest son of King Christian V and his spouse Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. The newborn prince was baptized the same evening with the name Frederick by the royal confessional Hans Leth. His grandfather King Frederick III had died a year and a half before he was born, and as the eldest son of the ruling king he was thus crown prince from birth. At the age of 18, he was given a seat on the Council of State as the heir apparent to the throne. Christian Christophersen Sehested
Christian Christophersen Sehested (22 Febr. 1666 – 19 July 1740) was a Danish noble and statesman. Biography He was the son of Christoffer Clausen Sehestedt til Nislevgaard paa Fyn (d. 1699). After the death of his father, he inherited the Nislevgaard manor. In 1701 he was married to Charlotte Amalie Gersdorff (b. 1685 d. 1751). Through the marriage, he came to possess Ravnholt manor. His marriage was childless. He became a nobleman '' Hofjunker'' in 1687. In 1694, he was Deputy in the Land and the Applicant's Commission. In 1698 he obtained the State Council title was sent to Stockholm as to replace Jens Juel (1631 –1700). He was called in 1700 to become Foreign Minister. He was the second Grand Chancellor of Denmark from 1708 to 1721. He was preceded by Conrad von Reventlow (1644–1708) and succeeded by Ulrik Adolf Holstein (1664–1737). Ulrik Adolf Holstein, Greve til Holsteinborg (14 April 1664 – 21 August 1737) was a Danish nobleman and statesman. Life He was born in Schleswig-Holstein. His father, Adam Christopher von Holstein (1631-1690) owned Netzeband and Buchholtz in Mecklenburg; his mother was Cathrine Christine Reventlow of Futterkamp (1647-1704). He was the brother of Christian Frederik von Holstein (1678-1747), Ditlev von Holstein (1669-1721) and Henning Christopher von Holstein (1679-1753). In 1679 he became a page to Crown Prince Frederick and found favour, becoming a noble (''freiherr'') in 1700. He was removed from court in 1703 after attempting to dissuade the King from marrying royal mistress Elisabeth Helene von Vieregg (1679–1704). La Troupe Du Roi De Danemark
La troupe du Roi de Danemark, or ''Roi de Danemark'' for short, was a French-speaking Danish court theatre, active at the Royal Danish court from 1682 until 1721. It was the only permanent theater in Denmark during its tenure. The first French theater troupe had performed at the royal Danish court under Jean Guilmois de Rosidor (father of Claude Guilmois de Rosidor) in 1669–70, but that was but a temporary visit. The ''Roi de Danemark'' was engaged 23 March 1682. It was composed of French artists, who performed French language plays exclusively for the royal Danish court on temporary stages arranged at the various royal palaces. The composition of the troupe varied, but normally consisted of circa twelve people. It was the only permanent theatre company in Denmark during its tenure, when the only other theater activity in Copenhagen consisted of temporary visits from travelling foreign theater company's. Anna Magdalena Godiche
Anna Magdalena Godiche née ''Høpfner'' (11 January 1721 – 22 February 1781) was a Danish book printer and publisher. She managed the biggest printing company in contemporary Denmark. Biography Anna Magdalena was born to judge Høpfner in Haderslev. She married Andreas Hartvig Godiche (1714-1769) of Copenhagen in 1736. He owned one of the biggest printing companies in Denmark and was one of those contributing to the expansion of book printing in Denmark in the mid 18th century. She took over the company as a widow and managed it until her death. Her son was mentally unwell and was not able to manage it. She owned the monopoly of printing and publishing the sentences of the de facto regent Johann Friedrich Struensee and Enevold Brandt, who were famously executed in 1772. Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow (28 August 1667 – 15 March 1721) was Queen of Denmark and Norway as the first spouse of King Frederick IV of Denmark. In 1708–09, she was regent during her husband's trip to Italy. Early life Louise was born in Güstrow in the family of Duke Gustav Adolph of Mecklenburg-Güstrow and Duchess Magdalena Sibylla of Holstein-Gottorp as a great-great-granddaughter of Frederick II of Denmark. Louise grew up into a tiny court characterized by pietistic feelings and rigid religiosity, led by her father, who wrote religious songs in pietistic spirit. In 1695, Louise was selected by Crown Prince Frederick as his bride. When it was deemed time for Frederick to marry and provide and heir to the throne, he was sent to a journey to Germany to choose a bride from some of the Protestant Princely houses.
