15th Operational Brigade (Ukraine)
The 15th Operational Assignment Kara Dag Mountain, Kara Dag Brigade "Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. It is a part of the Offensive Guard (Ukraine), Ukrainian Offensive Guard and was established as the 9th Special Purpose Regiment in 1994 at the village of Shiroky, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Shiroky in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. It has taken part in multiple engagements throughout the Russo-Ukrainian war and is currently deployed on the frontlines in Pokrovsk, Ukraine, Pokrovsk. It is currently headquartered in Zaporizhzhia, Zaporizhzhia City. History The brigade was initially created as the 9th Special Purpose Regiment on 1 June 1994 at the village of Shiroky, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Shiroky in Zaporizhzhia Oblast to protect public order as a part of the Internal Troops of Ukraine. Kara Dag Mountain
The Karadag (, – translated as ''black mount'') is a volcano, volcanic rock formation which rises to a height of 577 meters between the Crimean coastal town of Koktebel, Köktöbel and the Otuz (river), Otuz river valley. It has been the site of since the early 20th century. Some 2874 ha of coastline and 809 ha of coastal waters have been protected as the Karadag Nature Reserve since 1979. The littoral is rich in picturesque cliffs such as the Devil's Gate (Crimea), Devil's Gate. The best views of the Karadag are from Köktöbel and Kurortne, Feodosia Municipality, Crimea, Kurortne. 15th Operational Brigade (Ukraine), 15th Operational Brigade has received the honorary name in relation to the Mountain.
