14th Magritte Awards
The 14th Magritte Awards ceremony, presented by the Académie André Delvaux, honored the best 2024 in film, films of 2024 in Belgium. It took place on 22 February 2025 at the Flagey Building, Flagey, in the historic site of Place Eugène Flagey, Ixelles, beginning at 8:20 p.m. Central European Time, CET. During the ceremony, the Académie André Delvaux presented Magritte Awards in 22 categories. The ceremony was streamed in Belgium on Auvio, with a special broadcast on La Une. Actress Déborah François presided the ceremony, while comedian Charline Vanhoenacker hosted the show for the first time. The nominees for the 14th Magritte Awards were announced on 21 January 2025. Flagey Building
The Flagey Building (french: Bâtiment Flagey, nl, Flageygebouw) also known as Radio House (french: Maison de la Radio, nl, Radiohuis) is a building located in Ixelles, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium, housing the Flagey cultural centre. It is located on the south-western corner of Place Eugène Flagey/Eugène Flageyplein, with its main entrance on the /. The building, parts of which are listed, was designed by and completed in 1938 in Streamline Moderne (an international style of Art Deco). It owes its name to , a Belgian lawyer and politician who was mayor of Ixelles from 1935 to 1953. It served as the former headquarters of the Belgian National Institute of Radio Broadcasting. Michiel Blanchart (born 1993) is a Belgian film director and screenwriter. Blanchart was born to a Walloon father and a Flemish mother. He completed his secondary education in France, where he obtained a literary baccalaureate. He later studied filmmaking at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD) in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. He made his feature-length directorial debut in 2024 with '' Night Call'', a film set during a single night against the backdrop of a Black Lives Matter protest in Belgium. Jacques-Henri Bronckart is a Belgian film producer. Bronckart was born in Liège, Belgium. He attended the University of Liège and earned a degree in communication and cinema in 1994.
