135th Ohio General Assembly
The One Hundred Thirty-Fifth Ohio General Assembly was a meeting of the Ohio Ohio General Assembly, state legislature, composed of the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives. It convened in Columbus, Ohio on January 3, 2023, adjourned on December 31, 2024. The apportionment of legislative districts was based on the 2020 United States census and the 2022 redistricting plan. The Ohio Republican Party retained the majority in both the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives. Kirk Schuring
James Kirk Schuring (September 17, 1952 – November 22, 2024) was an American politician of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party from the state of Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1993 to 2002, and from 2011 to 2018. Schuring also served in the Ohio Senate from 2003 to 2010, before returning in 2018 and serving there until his death. In 2018, Schuring was interim Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, following the resignation of Speaker Cliff Rosenberger. Rosenberger resigned amid revelations he was under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was also the Republican nominee for Ohio's 16th congressional district in the 2008 election. Dani Isaacsohn
Dani Zachary Isaacsohn (born November 13, 1988) is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the Minority Leader of the Ohio House of Representatives. A Democrat, Isaacsohn represents the 24th district, which encompasses eastern portions of the city of Cincinnati. Elected in November 2022, Isaacsohn assumed office on January 1, 2023. Hearcel Craig
Hearcel F. Craig (born July 1, 1949) is an American politician serving as the Senator for the 15th District of the Ohio State Senate. Craig formerly served in the United States Army and then had a career with the Ohio Department of Youth Services. He then went on to help develop City Year in Columbus. Jim Hoops
James M. "Jim" Hoops is an American statesman (politician) who has served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. Appointed in 2018, he previously served four terms representing the same seat from 1999 to 2006. As Henry County Auditor, Hoops opted to succeed Lynn Wachtmann, who was running for the Ohio Senate, and won his seat in 1998. He went on to win reelection in 2000, 2002 and in 2004. By 2006, Hoops was term limited, and was unable to seek another term in the House. Instead, he opted to run for the Ohio Senate, to again succeed Wachtmann.
