12th Aviation Battalion (United States)
The 12th Aviation Battalion is a unit of the United States Army Aviation Branch. It is responsible for many rotary-wing flight operations for government officials in the Washington metropolitan area, National Capital Region (NCR), the area around Washington DC. The 12th Aviation Battalion is immediately subordinate to The Army Aviation Brigade (TAAB) and operates the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk. Mission The battalion is a unit of The Army Aviation Brigade (TAAB) under the United States Army Military District of Washington, Military District of Washington (MDW). Bombardier CRJ700 Series
The Bombardier CRJ700, CRJ900, and CRJ1000 are a family of regional jet airliners that were designed and manufactured by Canadian transportation conglomerate Bombardier (formerly Canadair) between 1999 and 2020. Their design was derived from the smaller CRJ100 and 200 airliners, the other members of the Bombardier CRJ aircraft family. A company is a military unit, typically consisting of 80–250 soldiers and usually commanded by a major or a captain. Most companies are formed of three to seven platoons, although the exact number may vary by country, unit type, and structure. Usually several companies are grouped as a battalion or regiment, the latter of which is sometimes formed by several battalions.
