New Jersey's 11th legislative district is one of 40 in the New Jersey Legislature, covering the Monmouth County municipalities of Allenhurst Borough, Asbury Park City, Bradley Beach, Colts Neck Township, Deal Borough, Eatontown Borough, Fair Haven, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Interlaken Borough, Loch Arbour Village, Long Branch City, Neptune City Borough, Neptune Township, Ocean Township, Red Bank Borough, Shrewsbury Borough, Shrewsbury Township, and Tinton Falls Borough. Demographic characteristics As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 227,063, of whom 182,117 (80.2%) were of voting age. Vin Gopal (born May 18, 1985) is an American Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician who took office on January 9, 2018, to represent the New Jersey's 11th legislative district, 11th Legislative District in the New Jersey Senate, which covers portions of Monmouth County, New Jersey, Monmouth County. Gopal serves as Chairman of the influential Senate Education Committee and as Senate Majority Whip. Interlaken is a borough situated in the Jersey Shore region, within Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 828, an increase of 8 (+1.0%) from the 2010 census count of 820, which in turn had reflected a decline of 80 (−8.9%) from the 900 counted in the 2000 census.
