10th South Indian International Movie Awards
The 10th South Indian International Movie Awards is an awards event that took place in Bengaluru, India, on 10–11 September 2022. The ceremony (10th SIIMA) recognized and honored the best films and performances from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films and music released in 2021, along with special honors for lifetime contributions and a few special awards. The event was announced officially in early-August along with the date. On 17 August 2022, nominations for the Best Film category were announced along with the other categories. The first day of the ceremony (10 September 2022) awarded the best films and performances from the Telugu and Kannada cinema, whereas on the second day, best films and performances from the Tamil and Malayalam cinema were awarded. Dhananjaya is nominated in three categories, the highest in a single year. Bengaluru Palace
Bengaluru Palace is a 19th-century royal palace located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, built in an area that was owned by the Rev. John Garrett, the first principal of the Central High School in Bangalore. The palace was commissioned for the Maharaja of Mysore, Chamarajendra Wadiyar X, and currently belongs to the current head of the Wadiyar dynasty, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar. Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. Kannada cinema is based in Gandhi Nagar, Bengaluru. The 1934 film '' Sati Sulochana'' directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film released in the Kannada language. The South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA Awards) rewards the artistic and technical achievements of the South Indian film industry. It was launched in 2012 by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Brinda Prasad Adusimilli to appreciate and honour film makers from across the South Indian film industries: Telugu cinema, Tamil cinema, Kannada cinema, and Malayalam cinema, and provide a platform to promote South Indian films in international markets. The 11th South Indian International Movie Awards is an awards event that took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 15–16 September 2023. The 9th South Indian International Movie Awards is an awards event held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad on 18–19 September 2021. The ceremony (9th SIIMA) recognised and honoured the best films and performances from Telugu cinema, Telugu, Tamil cinema, Tamil, Malayalam cinema, Malayalam and Kannada cinema, Kannada films and music released in 2019 and 2020, along with special honors for lifetime contributions and a few special awards. In 2020, the awards ceremony could not take place due to COVID-19 pandemic in India. So, it was scheduled for 11–12 September 2021. Later, it was rescheduled to 18–19 September 2021.
